· To formulate and be involved in collaborative
work for young people, using different forms of
creative expression.
· To set up a resource centre, which will
be open to scholars from all over the world to
document, research and develop classical dance.
Project Nrityagyan already includes the following:
VILLAGE OUTREACH
On weekends, approximately 300 local village children
receive free dance training at Nrityagram. Weekend
classes are conducted in Odissi,
Kathak
and Bharatnatyam
and students receive free dance instruction every
Sunday. Students, who show promise, perform at
our annual festival Vasantahabba and if they wish
to pursue a career in dance, they are admitted
into our residential programme.
