KATHAK
GURUKUL
Winding flowery paths approach the
Gurukul, the strong symmetrical base of granite,
red brick and large door-like windows. Mortar-less
stone-filled archways are a distinguishing characteristic
of the Gurukul. Relying on nothing more than ancient
physics, the fine silvery stones are suspended in
space, frozen in non-existent motion.
Designed by Gerard da Cunha. Inaugurated in 1994
and funded by the Inlaks Foundation and
Peter Cundill.
