from this Land...Mohiniattam
The
Mohiniattam Gurukul situates itself among
the wild boundaries of Nrityagram's land.
A completely open courtyard and an angled
thatch roof framing a piece of nature announce
the great breadth of the residence and its
concealed dance hall. A pattern flows downward
in giving half-moons, which imitate the rounded
nature of all Mohiniattam movement.
Uniquely appropriate, this dance hall possesses
granite rocks, finished with rounded apexes
that go only as high as your chest - welcoming
the greenery and sky to share in the dance.
The Mohiniattam Gurukul at Nrityagram was
inaugurated in 1992, and is sponsored by BPL.
Currently, the residential course in Mohiniattam
has been discontinued. |
