Dance Training

Residential Programmes in General
We have a residential training programme in Odissi, Kathak and Bharatnatyam. The basic training programme is for three years and the advanced training programme in Odissi only is for an additional three years. Every three years, we select a total of six students per programme. It is our belief, that dance should be made available without any consideration of cost. Therefore, all residential students receive free lodge, board and training for a period of three to six years. In return, we only expect the student to be a contributing member of our community and be involved in all work within the community, whether it is work in the office, on campus, teaching or any other work needed for the benefit of Nrityagram. During this time, they learn from the greatest masters from all over the world and the aim is, to have holistically trained professional dancers and teachers so that this dying tradition will be revitalised and preserved. Dancers in the residential programme work six days of the week with dance related training for 10 to 12 hours per day.

Advanced Training Programme in Odissi
