Application Procedures
Once an application is received, there are several steps in the admission procedure. The first step is a screening of the application. Only candidates who are short-listed will proceed to the next stage. The next step of the selection process is a probation of three months, during which time we will gauge whether the applicant is suitable for our training programme. There are three stages during the probation:

Registration: Upon arrival at Nrityagram, applicants will appear for a preliminary interview and will complete a registration form. We also interview a family member who will accompany them. In addition, we see the applicant perform a short piece of dance/movement. It does not matter what style of dance they show but it is important that they prepare something to show.

Month 1: This month will be an introduction to our style of learning and living (see note on Nrityagram’s Gurukul system of life). At the end of the first month, applicants will appear for an interview and practical exam on what has been taught to them at Nrityagram. If they successfully clear this interview and exam, they then go on to complete the rest of the probation.
